Looking for a faithful biblical ministry, in 1974 four families from Kalispell began weekly Bible studies in a home. Four years later the Northwest Presbytery of the OPC recognized Faith Covenant as a mission and the congregation rented the Sons of Norway Hall for services. The next year Presbytery organized Faith Covenant as a separate congregation with thirteen communicant members in six families.
By the summer of 1992, God enabled the church to purchase from Trinity Lutheran Church our current facilities in Kalispell’s attractive east side neighborhood. Services began here on August 9th. The church has continued to grow as many have come to hear the gospel and look for genuine biblical preaching, worship and teaching.
In January of 2008, we aligned ourselves with the PCA (Presbyterian Church in America) and were received into the denomination. The leadership at Faith Covenant believed that a greater regional church, along with church planting would enhance our ability to sustain our gospel witness for future generations in Montana. Although the OPC and PCA are sister denominations laboring in the same field, the workers closer to us now and in the foreseeable future are in the PCA. Our realignment with them better enables us to meet the goals and direction of our church in the region the Lord has place us.
We thank God for his continuing work of grace in and through our congregation. We are delighted to welcome new folks anytime.
